Imagine if someone opened a bank account in your name and paid into it regularly. The only stipulation would be that you had to use the money to help your neighbours.
Then you discovered that all your neighbours had similar accounts specifically designed to help you! How wonderful would that be?
According to the theologian, John Calvin, it has already happened.
“All the blessings we enjoy,” he wrote, “are Divine deposits, committed to our trust on this condition, that they should be dispensed for the benefit of our neighbours.”
