Join The Wild Bird Banquet Campaign

The British Trust For Ornithology (BTO) has teamed up with leading bird care manufacturer, Gardman, to launch the Wild Bird Banquet

Taking place in October, the campaign encourages everyone to take advantage of the fact that more birds can be spotted in back gardens than ever before.

All you need to do to take part is put out an extra bird feeder, sit back and watch.

When the birds arrive, report the difference in quantity via the Wild Bird Banquet website.

The UK-wide survey aims to make the nation fall in love with wild birds again. Just one feeder will make a noticeable difference to the quantity and variety of wild birds attracted to your garden.

“This is the largest survey of gardens and wild birds to be conducted,” Rachael Dickinson, senior marketing manager at Gardman, said.

“We’re calling on the public to host a banquet and get involved. The results will give valuable insight into wild bird habits, and how this changes regionally too.

“Having just one more feeder in the garden can have a huge impact. It makes the garden a chirpier place to enjoy, whilst also providing food for birds.”

The results will be reported on the Wild Bird Banquet website, where participants will also be able to download education packs.

Participating garden centres will also host a series of activities to support the campaign, alongside some fantastic promotions — including the chance to win a free holiday and a collection of birdcare goodies.
