“Close-knit Friends”: Nominate A Street For A Colourful Visit

nominate

Our “Close-knit Friends” campaign will soon see a colourful yarn-bombed bus travelling around the country, in partnership with loneliness charity Re-engage and the UK’s biggest bus and coach operator, Stagecoach.

Knitters across the UK have been sending in donations which will adorn the bus. Now, “The People’s Friend” wants to ensure people who continue to face restrictions to daily life can experience a little moment of joy.

Embellished with friendly crocheted faces, delightful pom poms and brightly coloured squares, the bus is sure to raise a smile for anyone who sees it, handing out magazines and other cheerful goodies as it goes.

We’re asking for our readers to nominate homes and streets for the bus to visit, to provide a warm dose of friendship for any residents who may be needing it.

Our bus will visit the following destinations later in the month of September:

  • Torquay
  • Barnsley
  • Newcastle
  • Dundee

Do you know of anyone who is staying at home in these places and is in need of a colourful pick-me-up? Or have you been unable to see a family member and you know a yarn-bombed bus would put a smile on their face?

We’d love to hear your suggestions for where our bus should visit and really make someone’s day.

How to nominate a street
