Knitting Preview: June 8, 2019

knitting preview June 8

Here’s a sneak preview of the knitting pattern coming in the next issue of “The People’s Friend”, on sale June 8.

We have a lovely longer-length tunic for you this week. Gently flaring, it is flattering and comfortable to wear. Half-length sleeves add the final touch.

It is available in a good range of sizes from 76/81 cm (30/32 ins) to  127/132 (50/52). Actual size is 5 – 10 cm larger (2 – 4 ins). Length varies from 71 cm (28 ins) to 82 cm (32 ins).

The tunic is worked in two yarns, King Cole Opium Palette, and King Cole Big Value DK.

Opium Palette is a great fashion yarn that knits up as quickly as a chunky yarn weight and gives a light lacy look.

We used Sea Breeze (1405), which incorporates shades of yellow, blue, turquoise and cream. The Big Value DK in Buttercup (3173) with its flecks of blue complements the Opium Palette perfectly, and is used to create the borders and yoke.

You can view all the shades in both yarns at www.kingcole.com and you can find details of your nearest stockist there, too.

Finally, we have marked this as easy — there should be no pitfalls here!

Go on, have a go! It works up so quickly you will have it ready in no time.
