Fiction Ed’s Blog: Merry Christmas From The Fiction Team!

Before COVID came, the Fiction team always got together for a Christmas photo.

Because of the pandemic, this is the second year that we have been unable to be together for that pic.

There’s no doubt that as we all face the possibility of more restrictions over the festive period, this isn’t where we’d hoped to be at this stage.

However, we know that we have so much to be thankful for.

Much to be thankful for

Although we can’t all get together, or return to the office, we are continuing to put the magazine together from home. This is thanks to our wonderful IT Team!

And while it’s true that we miss working in the office, we are still able to read, buy and illustrate hundreds of brand new stories and serials for our readers to enjoy.

A “Friend” to our readers

Our readers still get in touch, by letter and email, to say that they find the magazine a joy and a comfort.

It means a great deal to us, and the feedback really brightens our day!

For example – here’s an email we received last week:

Dear Editor & Staff,

Your issue dated the 4th December, the double issue, was a joy to read from beginning to end. This year has been difficult but each week your issues offer advice, articles, stories etc. A big thank you.

May I wish you a very Happy Christmas & New Year.

A Merry Christmas to all

For nearly 153 years, the magazine has been a “Friend” to our readers, through good times, and more challenging times.

That remains unchanged, as does the true message of Christmas — of peace, and goodwill to all.

We wish you a safe and peaceful Christmas, and a happy New Year.
