The Power of Meditation

Meditation is a powerful way to re-tune your mind

The last few months I’ve been doing a yoga sequence when I wake and have noticed many benefits. I’ve been more relaxed, more at peace, and have had more energy.  A few weeks back I started to add meditation to my daily routine, and it’s made an even bigger difference.

The first thing I had to do was share with our readers this wonderful feeling.

Why should you start meditation?

Meditation is a great way to relax and focus your mind. Our minds are full of so many thoughts and it’s easy to get carried away with modern day living.

Meditation is great to alleviate stress and anxieties, as well as help you learn more about yourself and your thought process. It can be done anywhere but is best done in a quiet place, either before you sleep, or when you awake. Or perhaps you’d be keen to join a local group.

Meditation guide, Lynette Gray runs two weekly group meditation classes in Edinburgh. One held at Restoration Yard and the other at Calm on Canning Street.  For just £5 you take away the most amazing feeling of calm.

The video below is a great introduction to meditation, and Lynette has kindly allowed us to share it here. I hope you enjoy it.
