Prince George Turns 6 Today

Prince George

Can you believe that Prince George celebrates his 6th birthday today?

We can’t either!

Here, we look back at how the “Friend” royal correspondent, Ian Lloyd, greeted the news of his birth . . .

So our future King arrived safe and sound. Like most babies the world over, he is now being cooed over by his doting parents and grandparents.

William and Kate are going to be very much hands-on parents and will pass on the lessons they have learned from their two very different backgrounds.

On the surface baby George will have a pretty similar upbringing to his father. Life will be based around Apartment 1a Kensington Palace, just a few yards from the home William and Harry shared with Charles and Diana.

When he is older he’ll take part in royal family events such as Trooping the Colour and the Christmas Day church service at Sandringham.

The legacy of Diana will also play a part in the new baby’s future. In a 2010 interview with his brother, Prince Harry told how both men still think of their mother every day.

Her two sons have vowed to carry on her legacy. In time, the baby prince will undoubtedly visit many charities and meet people from all walks of society.

The Middletons and Windsors share a great sense of humour. The latest addition to their joint family will grow up hearing a lot of laughter, surrounded by love. What baby could ask for more?
