Editor’s Diary: The “Friend” Is Still Here For You

In March, as the whole country went into lockdown, I wrote a message in my Editor’s Diary.

In it, I reassured “Friend” readers that the magazine would continue to be published.

It would, I said, take more than a global pandemic to stop us!

And so it proved to be.

I’m really proud that, in this turbulent year, we haven’t missed an issue. Every single one has been produced on time.

Not only that, the quality of content is as high as ever. That’s testament to the hard work and dedication of the whole “Friend” team and our contributors.

But now, after a summer that seemed to edge us nearer to normal, we’re again facing serious restrictions. Throughout the UK, people are adapting once more to tough new rules on almost every aspect of our lives.

Again, I want to reassure you all that the “Friend” will continue to be published as normal. I can say that with even more confidence than I did back in March!

In the eight months since, the team have become expert at creating magazine magic from our kitchen tables, bedrooms and living rooms.

Perfect escapism

In these challenging times, a magazine like the “Friend” is needed more than ever. Our unique blend of feel-good reading makes for perfect escapism.

So even as many parts enter a new lockdown, be assured that the magazine will still be stocked in all the usual retail outlets.

You may have to do without many of the things you enjoy right now, but the “Friend” isn’t one of them.

And if you’re unable to get out to the shops, why not join our growing band of subscribers? Tens of thousands of people choose to buy their “Friend” this way and have it delivered direct to their homes.

Take care, everyone, and be kind to each other and yourselves.
