Keep In Touch This “Thinking Of You” Week

thinking of you week

September 22-28 is “Thinking Of You” Week.

Started by the Greetings Card Association (GCA), the initiative encourages people to “create a wave of love, caring and happiness by sending greeting cards to different people during the week”.

So what’s so special about sending cards?

For Amanda Fergusson, Chief Executive of the GCA, it’s the personal touch.

“Texts and emails have their place, but it makes people feel far more special and cared for to receive a card someone has spent time choosing for them — and writing even just a simple message of warmth and friendship inside.

“In this fast-paced world where everyone seems glued to their smartphone or tablet, it’s easy to forget what a wonderful feeling it is to receive — and send — a hand-written card.”

Who will you send a card to? A loved one, or maybe a friend you haven’t spoken to in a long time?

Royal Mail is doing its part, with a special “Thinking Of You” postmark due to appear on your mail (like the special “Friend” postmark earlier this month!)
