Reading the news can be a little disheartening at times, especially with so much going on in the world.

But that doesn’t mean there aren’t some real gems to uncover — entertaining, funny or heart-warming stories that can bring a smile to your face whatever the weather.

This week, we’ve picked out a couple that caught our attention. We hope you enjoy!

When is a caterpillar not a caterpillar?

Admittedly, this story didn’t start out on a very entertaining note: it seems the M&S are taking fellow retailers to court over the resemblance between their caterpillar-shaped cakes . . .

Come to think of it, that did start out in quite an entertaining way!

But it was the response from the social media team at Aldi (and Twitter users in general) that really had us chuckling.

These are just some of the many, many tweets on the subject. You can search through them using the hashtag #CaterpillarWars

Missing the April showers?

We were tickled to read that travel company My Baggage are planning to sell £20 bottles of rain to Brits living in hotter climates such as Australia and Spain.

The site claims each 500ml bottle makes a perfect gift for homesick Britons living overseas in hotter locations who find themselves missing the UK’s wet weather.

They also hope to sell bottles to tourists who had planned to visit the UK this summer but who have been forced to rethink their plans due to travel restrictions.

Those who buy the bottled rain are urged to “pour over your head for an authentic feel of British weather”.

This isn’t the first time the company has been in the news for their wacky exports, either.

Last year My Baggage made headlines after selling bottled air to ex-pats overseas!
