Sweet Rewards

Dedicated training days, like the one recently attended by Gabi, are a great way for Cotswold RDA to keep everyone on track, but they also offer another benefit – a chance to socialise.

After all, volunteering with RDA, as well as being highly rewarding, is meant to be fun, too.

So after the serious business of the day is complete, when the volunteers have brushed up their skills and received their certificates,

and once Flyer and his friends are busy having their well-earned hay nets, it’s time for everyone to relax and have their refreshments, too: a cup of tea and a large slice of cake.

This fabulous cake was made by volunteer Joyce, who has been with the group for 42 years, to celebrate the opening of the sensory walk.

“These days are a great way to get everyone together, share ideas and make friends,” Heather says. “Like a big family, we learn together – and definitely laugh together, too.”
