Features Sneak Peek: September 29, 2018 issue
This week’s cover is just “Perfick!”, as Pat Coulter is exploring in “The Darling Buds of May” country – Kent.
Whether you read H.E. Bates’ original novel or just enjoyed the beloved TV adaptation, discover the lovely countryside all over again with Pat and Poppy.
Fancy adding an autumnal touch to your home, or looking for a seasonal project? We’re absolutely loving Liz’s felted pumpkins in the craft section, and Marion’s got some warming pork recipes in the cookery.
Enchanted forest
Autumn also means the Enchanted Forest is about to kick off in Pitlochry, just up the road from us. It’s a pretty amazing spectacle, with a light show amongst the woods and music to accompany it. Take a tour of what there is to see with Willie Shand on a dark evening, literally not being able to see the wood for the (brightly illuminated) trees!
Ali Henderson shares the touching story of the DogLost Charity, reuniting lost dogs and their owners.
In fact, there’s absolutely loads in this issue – Helen Yendall tells us about the amazing Friendship Project charity, too, plus there are two pages of puzzles, Maddie’s in there and there’s a brilliant piece from author Kate Thompson. Kate’s written a book gathering together some amazing stories from London ladies who toughed it out on the home front during World War II. Great reading.
