Difficulty: Intermediate

We have a stylish top with diamond patterning for you this week.

It features diamond patterning on front and back and stocking-stitch elbow-length sleeves. Sizes range from 76/81 cm (30/32 ins) to 127/132 cm (50/52 ins). Actual size is around 14/9 cm (5¼/3¼ Ins) bigger so we would suggest you knit your usual size.

The yarn used is King Cole Homespun DK, a lovely soft yarn with neps to give extra texture and interest. The blend includes Merino and alpaca wools to give a lovely soft texture.

Our choice of shade is Sea Breeze (5019) and you can find out more about the yarn, view other shades and find your local stockist at www.kingcole.com.

The diamond pattern is worked over a 19-stitch and 34-row pattern repeat. We have graded it as an intermediate design, if you have never tried a lace pattern before, it might be a good idea to try working the pattern repeat with some spare yarn to understand how it works.

The main thing is to keep a tally of every row as you go.

We think this is the perfect choice for smart or casual wear, it proves the saying, diamonds are a girl’s best friend!
