Here’s a whistle-stop tour of the fiction you’ll find inside!

Our Opening story is Vanda Inman’s “All For Show”. Hannah is new to the allotments – and to the comedy bickering of Frank and Jake. Illustration by Mandy Dixon (above).

In “Artfully Arranged”, one little girl hears the expression ‘having all your ducks in a row’ and wonders what on earth that could mean! By Val Melhop.

Next is Eirin Thompson’s “One Little Word”. Older mum, Naomi, is hurt when her daughter’s nursery helper thinks Naomi is a gran. Artwork from Jim Dewar.

In “A Step Through Time”, a time capsule from the 1970s compels two sisters-in-law to come to terms with the past. By Alison Wassell, artwork is from Andre Leonard.

We go back 100 years for our next story, set in 1922. Janie and her son work at Glamis Castle, but Janie has higher hopes for him…”Go Your Own Way” by Alison Carter, features artwork by Andre Leonard.

Our final story of this issue is Beth Watson’s “What Not To Wear”. Two best friends are meeting for the first time in two years – and one feels nervous about how to dress for the occasion!

It’s time to move forward, in Part Three of Suzanne Ross Jones’ “Love And Best Wishes”. Artwork by Kirk Houston.

While in “The Apothecary’s Apprentice” by Pamela Kavanagh, the gift given by Thomas is more special than all Anthony’s trinkets… With artwork by David Young.
