Story Starter: Boy In Striped Suit

Boy In Striped Suit

Here’s another illustration from our files that I think deserves to have a story written to go with it. I actually have a very clear idea in my head for this one, but no time to write it, so here, it’s my gift to you! I wonder if any of your ideas will echo mine?

You need to look closely at the detail, the nuances. (It’s like Eye Spy and I’m giving you a skiffy!) But look at what the wee boy is wearing….

OK, enough of me sticking my oar in. It’s over to you.

It’s very brief today – last day here! And it’s been fun. We ordered in pizza for lunch. Liz’s husband made some of his famous best-in-the-world tablet for our pudding. We’re all packed and raring to go, and it’s a happy occasion as we look forward to Monday. Actually, we’re split half and half. Some of the “Friend” staff have never worked anywhere but these Kingsway offices, and they naturally feel a wee touch of sadness. The other half of us started out in Meadowside, our new address, and feel it’s our spiritual home. But it will embrace us all.

Shirley Blair

Fiction Ed Shirley’s been with the “Friend” since 2007 and calls it her dream job because she gets to read fiction all day every day. Hobbies? Well, that would be reading! She also enjoys writing fiction when she has time, long walks, travel, and watching Scandi thrillers on TV.
