Health Bite: How To Lower Your Blood Pressure
High blood pressure?
One of the quickest ways to lower blood pressure, especially if it is dangerously high, is to eat less salt.
One quarter of the population say they have no idea how much salt (sodium chloride) they are consuming, and with the excess consumption of salt (6 g a day is the maximum recommended) a contributing factor in cardiovascular disease, stroke and kidney disease, it‘s in everyone’s interest to reduce their intake now.
Try using herbs and spices, chilli, ginger or lemon or lime juice in your cooking instead – all these healthy options are sodium free.
