Health Bite: Avocado Heart-health

Avocado heart-health

The delicious avocado is packed with heart-healthy mono-unsaturated fatty acids, specifically oleic acid, which helps reduce the destructive inflammatory process throughout the body and has been shown to have a beneficial effect on genes linked to cancer.

Avocados are nutrient-rich and contain more of the mineral potassium (which helps reduce blood pressure) than bananas, and the fat content aids absorption of important vitamins such as A, D, E and K.

And don’t throw away the skin when you’ve peeled one! Instead, rub the inside of an avocado peel against your heels – the natural moisturisers combined with exfoliating fruit acids make a perfect foot treatment.
