Blogs & Comments

I discovered something pretty exciting this week and that’s that people have been posting comments on my blog. Gosh!

I’ve got used to writing each one and posting it, and then kind of forgetting about it, because no one comments. And I don’t mean that in a “poor neglected me” way. I read lots of blogs myself, yet comment on next to none of them. It’s what many of us do, isn’t it? Lurk silently, agreeing or disagreeing yet saying nothing. I wonder why we’re like that?

I knew people were reading mine, though, from the number of stories we receive that credit one of the Story Starter images as their inspiration. And it’s absolutely fantastic to know that they’re working for so many of you. I like it when the writer says, “This started out as ….and somehow became… ” I love seeing that creativity.

But to return to my blogposts and comments, it means that there are quite a few comments going back months that I’m just discovering now. It’s fun actually, revisiting. I’ve just responded to a comment that was placed more than 100 days ago! Goodness knows what that poor chap thought of my manners, ignoring him like that. I hope he still visits.

I used to get alerts when a reply was posted to any of our team blogs, but you know how social media boffins are always changing things? That was one of them.

So, comment away, when you feel you have something you want to say, and forgive me if it takes a bit to get back to you, but I promise I’ll try to keep a better eye on it now that I know I have to.

You know, I can remember the days when all I had to do all day was read stories….!
