Most of you will no doubt we aware of our little gems, The People’s Friend Pocket Novels. They come out every two weeks and are a stand-alone story coming in around 37000 words. They’re a perfect size for popping in your bag and the type size makes them easy to read. They can be contemporary or period and be any Friend fiction genre.

If you’ve read one and fancy having a go at writing one, here are the guidelines.  We’re looking for stories around 37000 words that reflect the high standards of the fiction in our weekly and Special. Always e-mail a full synopsis and the first three chapters to give us an idea of your work.
