The Life And Legacy Of Elizabeth II

Elizabeth II souvenir bookazine cover

The death of Queen Elizabeth II was an emotional, momentous occasion that we’ll never forget. “The People’s Friend” observed the national mourning period and shared lots of amazing moments from the Queen appearing in the “Friend” with you. To mark the occasion, our parent company DC Thomson published The Life And Legacy Of Elizabeth II which “The People’s Friend” had the privilege of helping to put together.

When the news broke on Thursday afternoon of the 8th September, the “Friend” team worked around the clock to update our current Weekly issue that was about to go to press, and to make sure our souvenir issue made it on to shelves as soon as possible. We owed it to the Queen’s memory. But also to our readers who we know this would mean a lot to.

This special souvenir issue is a comprehensive timeline of the Queen’s life and reign. Including opening and closing features from Royal writer, Ian Lloyd. Packed with amazing photos of the Queen and her family throughout their entire lives. We tell the story of a life of duty.

From the early years before she was ever meant to be Queen to recent jubilees and celebrations. It covers her role during the war, becoming Queen, her passion for the Commonwealth. Plus, the infamous “annus horribilis” and the challenges of her reign.

You can read about The Great Love Story of Elizabeth and Phillip. Plus, the trends and fashions of the Queen over the years in Style Queen. And we look forward with The New Generation and the future of the Royal Family.

The DC Thomson Shop also has an array of Royal memorabilia to help you remember the life and legacy of Elizabeth II. A celebration of a life devoted to duty, before we move forward into the era of King Charles III.
