Knitting Preview: September 22 Issue

knitting preview

In this knitting preview, we have a ribbed sweater that captures the feeling of autumn gold.

It comes with instructions for six sizes ranging from 76/81 cm (30/32 ins) to 127/132 cm (50/52 ins), with an ease of 4 – 9 cm (1¾ – 3½ins). So it is quite fitted!

The front and back are both worked in a staggered rib pattern, which creates a lovely texture. In contrast, the sleeves are done in stocking-stitch, as is the little split collar.

A two button fastening at the back ensures a tidy fit.

The top is worked in Stylecraft Life DK which comes in 100 gram balls. You can make this top from about £12 with the largest sizes costing around £15 – great value. We have chosen Mustard, a hot shade for this autumn but there is a large range of other shades available, including some with a marl effect.

Finally, we have marked this intermediate. There is nothing difficult about the stitches, you just need to keep a tally of your rows so you work the staggered rib correctly.

We’re keen as mustard on this one and hope you are, too.
