Knitting Preview: March 23, 2019

We’re thinking layers with our knitted gilet this week.

The Technical Stuff

This gilet comes in six sizes ranging from 81-86 cm (32-34 ins) to 122-127 cm (48-50 ins). Actual size is 11-16  cm (4 -6 ins) bigger so it should be a comfortable fit over layers.

This gilet is marked as Easy because all you need to work is a mixture of stocking-stitch and garter-stitch. It will knit up quickly on 5 mm and 4 mm knitting needles.

It is worked in King Cole Timeless Chunky in Juniper Berry (2946) which is a lovely shade. However there are other shades to choose from if you prefer something else.

You will need between five and seven 100-gram balls and you can knit the smaller sizes for under £20.

Find out more about the yarn or discover your nearest stockist at www.kingcole.com.

You will need four buttons to complete the garment and we have used buttons from www.duttonsforbuttons.co.uk who have a selection of thousands of buttons and do a mail order service.

If you are looking for something to bridge the seasons, then we think this is the perfect garment. It will knit up in no time!
