craft preview

As this week’s craft preview shows, we’re creating something both practical and pretty in this week’s issue

This patchwork sleeve is perfect for protecting your tablet.

The pattern first appeared in “Take Two Fat Quarters: Gifts” by Wendy Gardiner.

This cute and quirky hand-made sleeve makes the perfect project while most of us have a little more time on our hands.

We have graded this one as intermediate.

Size: Suitable for a tablet measuring 20 cm x 13.5 cm (8 ins x 5 ½ ins).

The materials used in the book are:

  • two fat quarters
  • wadding (50 cm x 20 cm)
  • bias binding (36 cm of 12 mm-wide binding)
  • 36 cm of piping cord
  • thread

The tools you will need include a sewing machine with embroidery/darning foot or zip foot.

Whether for yourself or as a gift for someone dear to you, we know you’ll be charmed by this week’s craft suggestion.

“Take Two Fat Quarters: Gifts” by Wendy Gardiner is published by Search Press.

When not doing that, however, she either has her head buried in the old “Friend” volumes or is out and about giving talks or going on Warner trips (fab!). She hates cheese.
