Knitting Preview: July 11, 2020 Issue

knitting preview

We are bringing you a touch of luxury in this week’s knitting preview, with a lovely cardigan that is perfect for summer.

This design is worked on circular needles in one piece. It comes in eight sizes ranging from Extra Small to 4XL. Actual sizes range from 79 cm (31 ins) to 149 cm (58½ ins). It is a short length and the sleeves come to just below the elbow.

The yarn is Manos Del Uruguay Milo in shade Coquina (M17240).

A co-operative in Uruguay makes this hand-spun yarn. They hand-dye it, meaning that no two dye lots are exactly the same.

The mix of Merino wool and linen has a beautiful rustic look. And because there is linen in the mix, the yarn has a beautiful heathery effect.

To find out more about the yarn and the other shades available, or to order direct, visit www.laughinghens.com.

We have graded this cardigan as intermediate.

Working on a circular needle can take a bit of practice and you need to be able to divide for the body and sleeves. This involves provisional cast-on stitches.

To complete the garment you will need between 8 and 11 buttons.

So why not treat yourself to a luxury cardigan that will last for years?
