We have a gents’ sweater for you this week in the September 11 knitting.

Our ribbed sweater is perfect for smart or casual wear. It’s warm without being bulky, thanks to the wool, silk and alpaca yarn.

The sweater is knitted in Rowan Island Blend in shade Jet (902) and you can find out more about this yarn and check out your local stockist by visiting www.knitrowan.com.

A Comfortable Fit

Instructions are available for six sizes ranging from 102 cm (40 ins) to 127 cm (50 ins). The actual size is around 12 cm (5 ins) larger, so it will be a comfortable fit.

We have graded this as an easy design. A K2, P2 rib creates the pattern throughout with smart epaulets at the shoulders. 4 mm needles are required, and the neck is worked on a circular needle.

Modern Men’s Knits

The design is from the book, “Modern Men’s Knits” by Jan Geigley, Quail Studio, RRP £11.99. Available from all good bookshops and craft outlets or online, you can also buy it direct from www.knitrowan.com.

This versatile sweater will be a huge hit with the men and we hope you love it, too.
