Knitting And Crochet Preview: February 2, 2022 Issue

knitting and crochet

We have a double helping of accessories for you this week in knitting and crochet.

Our accessories are quick and easy to make and will keep you cosy while adding a splash of colour.

For crochet lovers we have a set consisting of snood, fingerless mitts and headband. They are all in one size.

We have used Rico Melange Chunky in the shade Turquoise-Magenta (046). If you are making the set, you will need five 50-g balls. The magazine instructions state what you need if you want to make part of the set.

This is a wool/acrylic mix designed to give you soft fades and strong stripes as you work. There is a large range of shades available and you can view them and order direct from www.ethelandem.com.

If you like to knit your accessories, we have a cosy hat and smart bag for you, both are made from just one 200-g ball of Rico Creative Chic-Unique. The shade used is Forest (004) and you can also order this direct from www.ethelandem.com.

The hat is a mix of wide rib and garter-stitch with a pompom adding the finishing touch.

The bag features stocking-stitch (knit one row, purl one row) with garter-stitch handles and a gathered rose and loop fastening.

Every accessory we are bringing you this week will work up very quickly, so why not treat yourself to all five?

I am part of the Features Team and my hobbies include knitting and crafts, reading and foreign travel – which are also my main responsibilities on the “Friend”. If you walk into the office you will soon spot my desk, it’s the one piled high with knitwear and balls of yarn!
