Editor’s Diary: All Kinds Of Weather

All kinds of weather visit Editor Angela in this week’s Diary…

As I sit down to write this latest Editor’s Diary, the sun is shining outside.

It looks like a beautiful day – but my goodness, it’s cold! Just three degrees C. right now.

Yesterday afternoon, however, it was snowing. I’m not kidding! For a short while, the grass in the back garden was covered in a carpet of white flakes.

Then came the hailstones. Big ones . . .

Changeable weather in spring isn’t that unusual. I do live in Scotland, after all. And wintry showers can fall at almost any time of year.

My mum still talks about her memories of snow falling in June . . . Brrr!

The “Friend” team had a good chat going about weather conditions yesterday. It was fun, each one of us reporting what was happening outside our windows at any given moment. And then predicting who would be on the receiving end next, depending on location!

It’s all very different from last week. The weather was glorious – and positively warm, too!

Day after day, I had sunshine and blue skies for my lunchtime walks. I even ventured out without a jacket on more than one occasion.

The broom and flowering currant was in full bloom, as you can see from my picture. And the bees and butterflies were out in full force.

I hope the cold snap hasn’t come as too much of a shock for them.
