Continuing our Love Darg focus, this week you can crochet a poncho.

Crochet A Poncho: How To

This week we continue our partnership with Knit for Peace and ask you to support our Love Darg by crocheting a poncho.

This is a simple pattern to follow. You need a selection of yarn in DK weight and a 4 mm crochet hook.

Instructions are for a child’s size but we tell you how you can easily increase the size if you want to make it to fit an adult.

There are only four rounds to follow to make this poncho.

Knit for Peace tell us that there is a huge demand for ponchos. They are easy to slip on, for some people with mobility problems, they are easier than a cardigan.

They offer an extra layer for warmth, essential as we all face power charge increases, but they do not present a trip hazard as blankets can do.

Knit for Peace send out garments wherever there is need and welcome donations of yarn or cash to help in this work. They also supply materials to groups and know from their experiences that knitting and crochet are great ways to aid mental health.
