Show off your knitting skills with our gilet, which features Celtic patterns front and back.

Our gilet comes with instructions for six sizes ranging from 76/81 cm (30/32 ins) to 127/132 cm (50/52 ins). Actual size is approx. 18/13 cm (7/5 ins) larger which will give a comfortable fit over a bottom layer.

The yarn used is Stylecraft Special Aran with Wool in Silver Nepp (5516). This yarn features flecks of colour to add extra interest. The yarn comes in 400-g balls and is great value with the first two sizes costing around £22.

The yarn contains 20% wool and is soft to the touch. If you prefer another shade then there are plenty to choose from. To find out more about the yarn or find your local stockist, visit www.stylecraft-yarns.co.uk.

We have graded this as an intermediate design. The Celtic panels are worked over 23 stitches and 36 rows and are repeated throughout. The back features both the left and right panels. You will need a cable needle to work all the panels.

Finally, three buttons add the finishing touch. Ours came from www.duttonsforbuttons.co.uk where you will find a huge selection of fastenings.

This gilet is perfect as we move towards spring. Its timeless design makes it a real winner.
