Poncho Knitting Preview: October 7, 2023

We have a cosy cabled poncho for you this week.

Our cabled poncho is perfect for keeping you warm on cooler days. It can also make a handy extra layer to pop on around the home, too.

The poncho comes in three sizes, 81/92 cm (32/36 ins), 97/102 cm (38/40 ins) and 112/122 cm (44/48 ins).

It is worked in Rico Creative Soft Wool Aran, in Ecru (002). This yarn combines soft wool with a luxury acrylic to create a soft and hardwearing yarn that can be machine washed.

To find out more about the yarn, or to order direct, visit www.woolnstuff.co.uk.

Difficulty Level

We have graded our poncho as an easy design. The all-over cable pattern is worked over a 12-row repeat and worked throughout. Ribbed borders add contrast.

There are a lot of stitches on the needle, so we recommend you work forwards and backwards on a circular needle.

Both the front and back are worked the same and then stitched together across the shoulders.

To finish off, just block out, cover with clean, damp tea towels and leave to dry.

As an alternative to a bulky sweater or jacket, we think this poncho is a real winner.
