The People’s Friend 150th Anniversary Special

Our 150th Anniversary Special Collector’s Edition has been on sale for a few weeks now, and I have already received some lovely letters from readers. Reading comments like these is one of the best parts of my job!

M.G. from Carnoustie wrote: “I was delighted to sit down and read such an interesting book. The illustrations are lovely, and good to read all the wee stories. Thank you so much. You made my day.”

Miss H.C. from Plymouth said: “I just wanted to say how much I am enjoying the 150th anniversary special. It’s so interesting and certainly packed full of information. My late grandma used to love the magazine, too. How I wish I could share the Special with her.”

Mrs M.M. of Clydebank thought the Special “beautifully presented”. She went on: “It was lovely to see such a nice picture of Annie S. Swan. She wrote such lovely stories for the ‘Friend’.”

Mrs S.C. wrote a brief message on a postcard which was both simple and touching: “I shall cherish it for ever.” And Mrs A.L. of Gwent enthused: “What a joy! Here’s to the next 150 years!”

Copies of the 150th Special Collector’s Edition are available to buy from our shop: https://www.dcthomsonshop.co.uk//the-people-s-friend-150th-anniversary-special
