Our Fabulous Flower Wall!

As you’ll have seen from our Facebook and Twitter pages a few weeks ago, we had a really lovely night celebrating our 150th Anniversary at our Meadowside headquarters here in Dundee, home of the “Friend”.

One of the many highlights of the night was our fabulous flower wall! Our beautiful centrepiece was created for us by the team at @JessiesKitchen1, who just like us are a family firm, local to Dundee. Just after 9am on the morning of the party, Reception called up to let us know they’d arrived in the Counting House here in our Meadowside building, and it was all systems go.

The Jessie’s Team had already measured and made the wall, so on the morning they turned up ready to roll! Their patient team unrolled our wall of beautiful artificial white hydrangeas over a backdrop of wooden crates, stapling it on to keep everything in place. They then carefully checked each flower to make sure it was in the right place. A little ivy draped on the top, and voila!

Our Design Team added a “People’s Friend” logo; reflecting our 150th Anniversary colours of white and gold, the wall provided the perfect backdrop for lots of fun photos. Two of our competition prize winners, Anne and Chrissie, are in our main image. Here’s Fiction Ed Shirley, Illustration Ed Sarah and Fiction Team’s Tracey…

…and here are our “living plant” heather favours, a little keepsake for our guests, to remind them of the “Friend”-ship we share, and of a night to remember!
