Keep It Under Your (Crocheted) Hat

hat

Margaret from our Production team has been flexing her crafting muscles recently, crocheting this cute hat!

It may look familiar to regular readers — the pattern was included in our January 25 issue.

Here in the office, we’re pretty impressed with her efforts (as you can tell from Design team Wendy’s face in the pic above . . .)

A good way to pass the time

Margaret has been aiming to tackle a bigger craft project for a little while now, and when this pattern appeared in the “Friend”, she saw her chance.

The hat may be for her daughter, but she’s not quite ready to take requests just yet. Believe me, a few of us have asked!

She is keen for our readers to know it was not nearly as tough as expected once she got started.

“If I can do it, then anyone can,” she said.

Margaret has previously tried out a few of the patterns found in our magazine, most recently the topsy-turvy doll included in our June 29 issue.

The place to come for craft fans

“The People’s Friend” includes crochet, knitting and craft projects every single week. And in our Specials, too!

Click here to subscribe to the magazine, and you’ll never miss another issue.

And remember: you can also pick up a pattern or two right here on the website!
