Our Aran sweater has a contemporary look this week.
Everyone needs a cosy sweater at this time of the year and we hope you agree this week’s design fits the bill perfectly.
Worked in Rico Fashion Modern Tweed Light & Soft Aran, it features a diamond and twist pattern all over. We have chosen shade Teal (998) a bright, vibrant colour with tweed flecks throughout. You can view the alternative shades and order direct from www.ethelandem.com.
The instructions come in five sizes ranging from 86/91 cm (34/36 ins) to 127/132 cm (50/52 ins). This sweater is designed to be loose fitting and actual sizes are 21/16 cm (8/6 ins) bigger.
The diamond pattern is worked over a 30-row pattern repeated throughout. To keep things simple, there are set-in sleeves and no shaping on front and back until the shoulders. The sleeve increases are worked in reverse stocking-stitch (purl 1 row, knit 1 row).
We have graded this sweater as intermediate. There are no tricky stitches but you do need to keep track of the 30-row diamond panel. If you have never worked with Rico Fashion Modern Tweed Light & Soft Aran before, try not to hold the yarn too tightly and give the yarn a turn every so often to keep the twist.
