Writer Neil McAllister Joins The 150th Celebrations At Alvaston Hall

One of the highlights of the entertainment at our 150th birthday weekend at Alvaston Hall is a talk from Neil McAllister.

Neil McAllister writes both British and international travel for us, and is one of our most prolific contributors. Never travelling without his wife, Hazel, Neil has already been to one of the Warner weekends (a “Turkey and Tinsel” festive event in Yorkshire) and thoroughly enjoyed it. Here’s what he had to say:

It was a delight for Hazel and me to meet so many ‘Friend’ readers at Nidd Hall last year – and to enjoy he novelty of celebrating Christmas in November.  This Warner Leisure Hotel is in one of our favourite parts of Gods Own County, surrounded by lovely countryside, historic sights and friendly, welcoming towns.  We are both delighted to have another opportunity to meet readers this year at Alvaston Hall, which makes a great base to explore all that Cheshire has to offer. I was born locally and after growing up in Cardiff, have spent the last 40 years exploring Cheshire’s hidden gems as well as better-known attractions.
